UN official: Sanctions vs Russia can harm most vulnerable people
GENEVA, Apr 28 (PRIME) -- The sanctions against Russia can harm the most vulnerable groups of people and the citizens of Crimea, Idriss Jazairy, UN human rights expert, said on Friday.
“The measures were aimed at becoming a restrictive factor for Russia but they have a risk of becoming only a restrictive factor for the international entrepreneurial society, harming only those vulnerable groups in Russia, who are unrelated to the crisis,” Jazairy said.
Jazairy asked to remove the sanctions on elected Russian officials and to give them immunity.
